A few months ago Chad and I found this great deal on tickets to Seattle. Chad grew up right outside of Seattle and I had never been so we decided to spend a weekend away...just the two of us. It was a wonderful little break together and it was nice to remember that we still like each other! So September 19-21 the kiddos we were with Nana and Papa and Chad and I were off having a blast. We flew in at about 9:00am on Saturday and started off with all the touristy stuff. We hit Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, we did an Argosy Cruise and had a ton of fun! Then on Sunday we were able to go to Chad's old ward and spend the day with a lot of the families he grew up with. It was really neat for me to get to know Chad-the kid and Chad-the teenager! Chad also took me to Edmonds Beach. It was gorgeous. Then bright and early on Monday we headed back to life...the kids decided to get really sick while we were gone and our vacation soon wore off...
warning: there are a lot, I mean a lot of pictures!

My parents watched our sick kiddos for us and all my dad requested was Smoked Salmon from the market.

The flowers at the market were gorgeous and there was tons of them. The flowers and the Salmon were just about the only neat things there. Most of the shops were selling junk. But it was still fun to walk around in the rain!

Across the street from the Market was this AMAZING french bakery. I mean seriously..YUM! I will butcher the spelling but we each got a Chocolaitten.

Chad with the two Stadiums behind him. The Mariners had a homegame that day and we were tempted to go, but we didn't have enough time.

The Space Needle. It took us forever to decide if we wanted to pay $16 to go up. Yep you heard me right, $16 to ride on a 40 second elevator and a view at the top. It was a nice view and now we can say we did it but totally not worth the money!

The $16 view!

One of Chad's best friends growing up, Jordan, joined us for the Space Needle and Argosy Cruise. It was great to hang out with him! The cruise was amazing, the views were gorgeous! It was freezing though! So before the cruise we went to a gift shop to find Chad a sweatshirt because he left his in Boise. Neither of us thought to ask Jordan to bring one when we talked with him that morning..yep we are two smart cookies!

Chad and I with the Seattle skyline behind us.

Chad is amazing! He took three of four pictures of the skyline and then played on Photoshop with them and made this gorgeous panarama. I know the picture is small but if you click on it it will show it larger. Seriously, do it!

Chad and I drove by his old house and I snapped a quick shot of it.

Edmonds Beach was amazing. It was so peaceful and the weather was wondeful. It actually felt a little warm! What a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

We set the camera on a table and got a shot of us.
We didn't get any pictures of the friends we visited, we should have. We do want to thank them for letting us spend time with them! Chad and I had a wonderful weekend away. We sure missed our girls and talked about them constantly but it was great to be just the two of us for a little while!

I love Seattle....sigh. I truly wish that I had gone with you, maybe next time!
Oh, and I can never figure out how to put more than 5 pictures on a post. So frustrating to see all of yours. Sheesh.
love all the pictures. Seattle skyline is absolutely beautiful. It actually makes you forget ALL the gray days, almost! I didn't even recognize our old house at first with the big pine trees cut down. I would like to go for a visit though, miss our friends!! Scrolled down to look at my beautiful granddaughters!! MY, my I am so proud!!!
