Kaylynn got her ears pierced! It all started when she was about three and was wearing sticker earrings or play earrings all day, every day. Then she realized that mom has holes in her ears to put earrings in and then the begging started. We told her she had to wait until she was older, this did not go over so well. So we finally decided she was ready for earrings since she so desperately wanted them. She had to work for them! We made a chart titled: Kaylynn's "I will not whine and I will listen so I can get my ears pierced" Chart. Every time she did something without being asked more than once and did it with an optimistic attitude she got a sticker. This so worked for our advantage by the end she was a much more polite girl that was spending way less time in time out! On Saturday, Feb. 6th she earned her last sticker and we were off to Claire's in the mall! (sidenote: several times during the process I tried to scare her out of doing it by going through step by step of getting your ears pierced and how badly it hurts...she didn't care!)

My last picture of my hole-less ears!
She showed the chart to the girl who got her all ready to have her ears pierced (and everyone else she saw...she was a little excited, probably because she earned it!)
We called ahead of time to make sure there would be two employees there so they could pierce both ears at the same time. I love her face, she is looking a little worried.
Watching her face while they did it was priceless, almost like watching a newborn get shots for the first time. She jumped out of the chair and into my arms as soon as it was done. She cried on my lap while they cleaned her ears off.
Beauty is pain my friend! I think Kaylynn picked out the cutest earrings! Who doesn't love a sweet pink flower?
They gave her a sucker and by the time we walked out of the store she was all smiles!
Next stop: Baskin Robbins for some bubblegum icecream!
We walked around the mall for awhile and went into Children's Place. It was heaven for Kaylynn, so many pretty dresses, she must have one! Well daddy had sucker written across his forehead and decided that her logic made perfect sense, "But daddy I need a pretty new pink dress to match my pretty new pink flower earrings" and then mommy decided she needed a pretty flower barrette to match as well...she is so spoiled!!! (by the way, I don't have a picture but trust me she was so stinkin' cute on Sunday wearing her pretty new outfit) We sure love that little girl! And she has been so good at making sure we clean and turn her earrings! I can't believe how big she is getting!
