Sunglasses and Crayons

Enjoy the cuteness!

Glue...

August 6th marked a first for us. Chad was watching Madison during Priesthood at church, I was in primary. Noone from the Elders Qurom Presidency was there except him so he was on the podium during their opening excercises. Apparently Madison climbed up on the little step that is scooted up when kids are talking at the podium and fell off it and hit her head. She cried, Chad picked her up and cuddled and she was fine. Then she looked up at him and he saw the blood... He took her to the bathroom to clean it up and realized how deep it was and decided that he should go get me. He says he felt like he took the walk of shame, everyone he passed on the way to the primary room seemed to look at him with knowing eyes, "you have to go tell your wife what happend"... We decided to take her to a Primary Health Clinic. We were really worried about the prospect of stitches. Well they have something even better for small wounds now...GLUE! Yep the Doctor glued her eyebrow back together!

Look at that clean white dress! Not a drop of blood there, but daddy's sleeve is another story!

She was SO tuckered out! After lunch Chad rubbed her little ears for a second and she was out! We got her out of the chair, upstairs and into her bed without waking her up. Rough day kiddo!
(sidenote: since then she has peeled part of the glue off and it pretty much took her eyebrow with it! lol)

Preschool is in session!

On Sept. 3rd our preschool co-op started back up again. Kaylynn loves her preschool buddies and really enjoys all of her teachers! She is even more excited that she gets to take her princess backpack with her! Here are a few shots of her on her first day of preschool! (oh and I am not entirely sure what happend to her forehead...it happend during "quiet time" one afternoon...)

She's A Walkin' (yes I know I am about 3 weeks behind on blogging!)

So, as I said I am way behind! Madison took her first steps on Aug. 11, 2009! We were so excited, at first. Now she is constantly on the move and she is so active and curious it is exhausting! She our little bundle of energy! Luckily I was about two steps from the camera and caught her walking debut! She loves the freedom that comes with mobility!

The Climber!

Madison climbs...on everything! Kaylynn never did this so Chad and I have no experience with this. She has so many bumps and bruises...yikes!

Look at my new ride!

First Birthday= facing the front in a brand new carseat! She loves watching the world go by as we drive along. Her first outing while facing forward was... to the pediatrician's office for her one year check up. She did well with the doctor and nurse right up until they gave her the shots, poor thing got four!
Here are her one year stats:
weight: 19 lbs 14oz 30%
length: 29.5 in. 65%
head: 45cm 50%

Madison's First Birthday!

On August 16, 2009 our little Madison Emily turned one year old! It was a Sunday so we started the day off with church. Then after her nap she opened presents from my parents and us. It took her a little while to figure out what to do with these boxes, her first instinct (naturally) was to climb them. Kaylynn was as patient as she could be while watching her sister open presents. In the end she ended up "helping" Madison open them! We were able to celebrate her birthday with a party that evening with a whole bunch of family and some really wonderful friends!

Her new giraffe from Mommy and Daddy!

Her stroller/walker (you gotta love toys that do double duty!) from Nana and Papa

This is at her party. The advantage of an August birthday is wonderful outside weather, so we had her pary outside and the kids played on the swingset and we all had a great time! In case you haven't figure it out by her shirt (yep I made it myself!) that her birthday was a Pink N Green Ladybug theme...super cute!

I made her a special ladybug cake that she got to have all to herself. I think this was her favorite part. She kept at it for awhile! What can I say, this kid likes her food!

Want some mom?
We are so grateful to have Madison in our family. There isn't a night that goes by without me thanking my Father in Heaven for such amazing children! She is an absolute joy to be around. She is so curious about everything around her and has to investigate all new things immediately. She is a climber and will definitely continue to keep us all on our toes! She is a kind, very willing to share, ticklish, loveable and precious bundle of energy!

Ben and Megan's Open House Here...

We had an open house here for Ben and Megan on August 15, 2009 (I know, I know I am way behind on my blogging...) I was super excited because Kaylynn let me do her hair like a princess(if you scroll down to the reception in Hollister blog you will see that her hair is just brushed...I chose not to battle with her on that one) It was a fun night visiting with family and friends!

This is where Kaylynn was most of the night(the other half she was running around with her cousins...literally running laps around the yard!) I love the look on her face, she is checkin to see if she's gonna get caught sneeking more marshmellows!
"I can't believe Mom is making me stand still for a picture!"
